The Texas Democratic Party is holding a week long online Presidential candidate preference contest.

The midweek results (with scintillating analysis are below the fold

The voting ends this Friday September 7th.

Not surprisingly, the leading contender for the nomination, John Edwards, leads handily with nearly 30% of the vote.

There is a second tier consisting of Rep. Kucinich (16%)  as well as Sens. Obama and Clinton - each with about 21%.

No other candidate receives more than statistically significant support (although Richardson has received 250 votes).  Link to results here:

Total votes cast are just over 4000.

As with all polls at this stage of the campaign the only real significance is to  show that the voters most active and involved lean heavily towards Edwards.

If you are a Texan go vote.
