Liebaugh - $400 mil., workers - 0
Thu Jul 03, 2008 at 11:04:59 AM PDT
(Cross-posted on my blog.)
In case you hadn't heard, Gush Liebaugh, bloviating liar and hypocrite extraordinaire, just got a new contract worth a reported $400 million. On the same day, the business section carries a story about another 25,000 auto workers getting the axe (that's in addition to the 100,000 or so that have already gotten it in the past two years). For the trifecta, there's the news that payrolls have shrunk for the sixth straight month (but we're not in a recession -- oh no, the "economy is growing" thanks to guys like Liebaugh).
We all know this is SFUIBB (So F-d Up It's Beyond Belief), but the stories are related in ways we may not have considered.
Flaming Nazi Airbag gets $400M Radio Contract
Thu Jul 03, 2008 at 09:40:18 AM PDT
No, not the Hindenburg....Rush Limbaugh.
He gets $38M per year for 8 years and AT LEAST a $100M signing bonus.
Hmmm, maybe if I was a racist, drug-dependent, hate-mongering, homophobic, elitist, uncompassionate, obese, poor-people-hating, outdated, obsolete, lie-pushing, Bush-sucking, liberty-fucking, terror-making, muslim-hating, worthless sack of shit.....people would listen to what I had to say.
Isn't America sick of Republicans?
Wed Jul 02, 2008 at 09:58:26 PM PDT
Aside from the obvious; the way the Republican party has messed up, not only this country for the past 8 years, but the entire world, one would think America, all of America is sick of them.
I just can not see how anyone can listen to any Republican speak and still assign creditability to them.
I could go on forever listing all the hypocrisy of the Republican party, but for this diary, I just want to focus on just one issue.

Rush Limbaugh, Bo Snerdley on Obama's Lack of "Slave Blood"
Tue Jun 24, 2008 at 11:27:27 PM PDT
Rush Limbaugh & Bo Snerdley discussed Obama's lack of "slave blood" this morning, as well as the contents of Bo's blood, to establish Bo's qualifications as Certified Black Enough to Criticize Obama.
I'm telling you, I think we may be getting somewhere in this country.
Climate Change was Just As "Inconvenient" 36 Years Ago!
Tue Jun 24, 2008 at 07:38:31 PM PDT
A few months ago, entirely by accident, I came across a 1972 book in a little old antique/curio store in downtown Buda, TX (a suburb of Austin) that's owned by my friend and terrific artist (and former Univ. of Texas art instructor) Jeanette. It's entitled Only One Earth -- The Care and Maintenance of a Small Planet, and it's written by Barbara Ward and Rene Dubos. This book predated Al Gore's book, Earth in the Balance, by a full 20 years.

Gay Rights: The Time is Now
... A Message From the Self-Appointed Straight Ambassador to Gaytown =)
On February 12th Lawrence King, 15, was fatally shot by fellow student Brandon McInerney at school. Why? Lawrence asked to Brandon to be his valentine. The incident went virtually unacknowledged by the MSM. Even the supposedly liberal-biased New York Times gave the incident a one line mention the day he died—Valentine’s Day—and didn’t specify that it was a hate crime.
The horrible underlying message here is that hate crimes are not a big deal because the gay people are inferior. If a kid was killed in America for being straight there would be an absolute uproar and Rush Limbaugh would be on the radio screaming ‘straight crime’ before he could put down his bottle of OxyContin.
Rush Limbaugh: the Audacity of Racism, Sponsored by Barnes and Noble
Fri Jun 20, 2008 at 10:37:40 AM PDT
I am originally from a town outside of Chicago. I feel the Midwest loyalty. It has obviously upset me that there are people I know who have lost their property or have been cut off from going to see their loved ones because of the recent flood crisis.
But, despite these inbred loyalties, there is no possible way I can say that the Midwest flooding crisis comes anywhere near the death and destruction of Hurricane Katrina. And there's no way I could conscionably say that the floods in the Midwest in any ways "dwarfed" what happened in New Orleans, which Rush Limbaugh Tuesday had the audacity of saying. Let's look at the differences: In New Orleans, you had a poverty-endemic urban center experiencing one of the most powerful natural distasters, which resulted in a death toll of nearly 1,900 deaths and $81.2 billion in damages, which the victims were given no warning to and FEMA feebly came to aid very, very late in the game; on the other hand, the Midwestern floods impacted a sprawling, white, rural population, who were given warning and immediate aid from FEMA, resulting in 24 deaths and $1.5 billion in damages.
Directly From The Butt Of Rush Limbaugh
Wed Jun 18, 2008 at 02:52:38 PM PDT
It's hard to believe what can come out of the mouth (butt) of Rush Limbaugh but his latest tirade is beyond belief, beyond disgusting, beyond loathsome.
Yes it's very hard to believe this mindless little man could stoop so low as to praise the flood victims in Iowa, Illinois who happen to be mostly white and at the same time, condemn the Katrina victims with the same old rhetoric, innuendos and outright bigotry that the KKK type people carry in their bags of hateful garbage.
Those poor hurrican victims, who happen to be mostly of color are responsible in the intolerant brain cells of Rush, for their fate. I know beyond the pale, is too weak a phrase for this criticism from a genuine butt-hole. The only bewilderment I feel of such a creep sputtering into a microphone that goes out over the airwaves is, WHY THE HELL WOULD ANYONE LISTEN TO HIS SHIT AND STILL THINK OF HIM AS A CREDIBLE BEARER OF THE TRUTH? thinkingblue Please watch the youtube video below:
Urgent: Contact Secret Service Now
Wed Jun 18, 2008 at 12:05:29 PM PDT
I just called the field office of the US Secret Service regarding Limbaugh. I spoke with an agent and told him how Limbaugh was substituting Obama for Osama and repeatedly calling for the killing of Obama. I explained how I thought this was deliberate since it has been occuring frequently for the past hour and that they need to take his comments seriously.
About five minutes ago he said, to paraphrase "We need to kill Obama!" and went immediately to commercial.
I urge all persons to contact the Secret Service and tell them to investigate Limbaugh now.

Rush Limbaugh's OBAMA/OSAMA "mistake" (with poll)

Congress finds Big Oil holding back fields that could DOUBLE US output
Tue Jun 17, 2008 at 02:42:15 PM PDT
Rush Limbaugh and other righties have blamed high oil prices on limits on off-shore drilling and in ANWR, but Congress has found that big oil ISN'T drilling on leases they hold now that could DOUBLE US output and reduce our dependence on foreign oil. Rep. Nick J. Rahall (D-WV) today introduced a bill that tells them to "use it or lose it."

You know what happens when you cling to your 'talking points' with such ferocity and passion? You end up reflexively lying, often without realizing it. The reason is, that you have convinced yourself that a canted-angle version of the truth - a gross distortion of facts and often the very fabric of reality - are verifiable facts that are solid and impenetrable.
I was reading some of the psycho-babble over at Redstate.com when I saw a picture that piqued my interest.

Obamacans vs Dittoheads
Thu Jun 12, 2008 at 11:37:46 AM PDT
Just for fun, I dug through the exit polls from the Dem primaries, specifically looking for how many self-professed Republicans crossed party lines to vote for Democrats.
I'll warn you up front: there isn't too much value, if any, in these numbers. There's no guarantee of accuracy in exit polls, and no guarantees that every registered Republican even fessed up. Still, I wanted to take a look if for no other reason than to try and glean how much of an impact a certain increasingly irrelevant blowhard had on the primaries.
As a Discordian (hail Eris!) I've got a natural bias towards chaos. Chaos is just more entertaining than Order, when you get right down to it. But did the grandiosely-named Operation Chaos actually earn the right to that moniker, or had Limbaugh's knee-jerk sexism reached into a higher sphere and sullied the good name of a Goddess?

Summary: As you may know, Bill O'Reilly has a new book coming out about his formative years. This inspired me to take a look at what he, and other figures from the political landscape, might have been like when they were younglings.

Rush Limbaugh called me a "wacko" yesterday

Cross-posted by Will Bunch at my Philadelphia Daily News blog, Attytood. Like most newspaper blogs, sadly, a lot of right-wingers camp out there, so I urge you come to come over and join the battle.
Rush Limbaugh called me a "wacko" yesterday to his 20 million radio listeners.
I am truly honored and humbled.
